The FPCD invites you to participate in a unique educational and cultural initiative – the Online Institute for Post Conflict Development. The Institute serves as a people to people platform where anyone, from students to peace advocates and development professionals,  can contribute to and learn about the intricacies of post-conflict development through concise, insightful 2-minute video tutorials. By sharing diverse perspectives and experiences the FPCD facilitates an understanding of the challenges, complexities, and potential solutions that contribute to post conflict development. 

The FPCD welcomes your contribution and unique perspective on a variety of dimensions of post conflict development.

Define Post Conflict Development?

1. In your own words, how would you define post-conflict development, and what makes it distinct from conflict resolution or traditional development efforts?

Personal Experiences

2. Could you share your personal experiences or insights into the challenges and complexities involved in post-conflict development in your country. Could you highlight the importance of cultural understanding and sensitivity?

What Are the Priorities?

3. From your perspective, what are some of the essential elements or priorities that must be addressed in the initial stages of post-conflict development to lay the foundation for sustainable peace, recovery, reconciliation and development?

About Community Engagement

4. Tell us about the role of community engagement, local ownership, and cultural diplomacy in post-conflict development initiatives. How can external actors effectively support and empower local communities in this process while fostering cross-cultural understanding and cooperation?

Lessons Learned

• Self-submission, filmed with your smartphone and emailed to our team

• An FPCD team member can film you on a video call. 

Guidelines:

• Responses to each individual question should be approximately 2 minutes in length.
• Please film in a well-lit area with no background noise.
• More than one of the guiding questions can be answered as long as the answer is covered in a separate video, thus we would receive 2 submissions.
• Submitters agree that videos will be transcribed by the FPCD team so that written versions can be shared across our social media platforms
• Submitters will approve the video and transcription before uploaded to the Institute site.
