About The Foundation for Post Conflict Development Logo

The Board of the FPCD spent considerable time developing the identity of the Foundation. One area of focus was in developing a logo that accurately and symbolically represented the goals of the FPCD. In the fall of 2005 a logo design company was commissioned to professionally project the image of the Foundation by embodying the FPCD mission statement. After months of careful consideration and seeking feedback from a variety of sources, the Board of Directors chose what is now known as our logo.

The logo is a simple symbol of the world with blue for water and green for the environment and vegetation – the basis for life on our planet. The dual colors of blue and green in the circle also symbolize the goal of peace through sustainable development.

The faint shadow of the globe on the bottom of the logo depicts the reality of where we are now –a world where there exists many countries shattered by war, in need of reconciliation and reintegration and to be come one again within the community of nations.

One can find anything positive in the logo, however overall, the logo is FPCD’s vision of hope for countries as they emerge from conflict situations toward post conflict development.
